The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL A700-121-I is a Number 21 high-speed steel (HSS) aircraft extension drill with a 6-inch overall length (OAL). Designed for drilling in tight or deep-reach applications where a standard-length bit cannot access the work, this drill is built for use on aircraft structures, sheet metal, and similar fabrication work. HSS construction provides the hardness and heat resistance needed for drilling through mild steel, aluminum, and other common aerospace and industrial metals. Licensed tradespeople and experienced fabricators working in aerospace, HVAC sheet metal, or structural applications are the primary installers.
This drill is suited for applications requiring extended reach beyond what a jobber-length bit provides. The Number 21 size corresponds to a decimal diameter of 0.159 inches, making it appropriate for clearance holes, pilot holes, and rivet hole preparation in sheet metal and structural panels. Its 6-inch OAL allows access to recessed areas and deep cavities common in aircraft and commercial HVAC fabrication work. It is well-suited for use with standard drill motors and pneumatic drills used in production and maintenance environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use aircraft extension drill compatible with drill motors and pneumatic tools accepting standard straight-shank drill bits of Number 21 size.
Installation is performed by machinists, aircraft technicians, HVAC fabricators, or sheet metal workers using standard drill motors or pneumatic drilling equipment. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling to prevent movement and ensure hole accuracy. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling harder metals to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace worn or chipped bits to maintain hole quality.
