The EAGLE CUTTING TOOL 1090-105-I is a high-speed steel (HSS) slow spiral drill bit designed for drilling through steel, cast iron, hard plastics, and similar materials where controlled chip evacuation is critical. Built with a 1-5/64 inch cutting diameter and a 1/2 inch straight shank, this bit is sized for use in heavy-duty drill presses, magnetic drills, and industrial hand drills with a 1/2 inch chuck. The slow spiral flute geometry reduces heat buildup and improves chip clearance in tough, stringy materials. Machinists, pipefitters, ironworkers, and general industrial trades rely on this style of bit for production and field drilling applications.
This drill bit is suited for metalworking applications in both shop and field environments. The 1/2 inch shank provides solid tool-holder engagement, making it appropriate for stationary drill press work as well as heavy portable drilling rigs. Typical uses include structural steel fabrication, mechanical contracting, and maintenance repair operations (MRO) where larger-diameter HSS drills are needed for bolt holes, conduit knockouts, and pipe penetrations.
Designed as a standard slow spiral HSS drill bit compatible with any drill press, magnetic drill, or hand drill equipped with a 1/2 inch or larger chuck capacity.
This bit is installed and serviced by machinists, ironworkers, pipefitters, and mechanical tradespeople. Always secure the workpiece with appropriate clamping before drilling. Use cutting fluid or coolant when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life and reduce heat. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
