The E-Z LOK EZ-C303 is a 46-piece self-locking thread repair kit designed to restore or reinforce damaged internal threads in metal, plastic, or composite materials. Each kit includes stainless steel helical inserts that install into a pre-tapped hole and create a durable, corrosion-resistant threaded seat. The inserts use a self-locking design that resists vibration-induced loosening without the need for thread-locking compounds. This kit covers a range of UNC thread sizes from number 10-24 up to 1/2-13, making it a practical multi-size solution for maintenance professionals, millwrights, and field service technicians who regularly encounter stripped or worn threads.
This kit is suited for repair work on mechanical assemblies, HVAC equipment housings, pump and motor mounting points, electrical enclosures, and general industrial or trade applications. The range of included insert thread sizes - number 10-24, 1/4-20, 5/16-18, 3/8-16, and 1/2-13 - covers the most common UNC fastener sizes encountered in residential and light commercial equipment service. External thread sizes accommodate 3/8-16, 7/16-14, 1/2-13, 9/16-12, and 3/4-10 host material threads.
Designed for use with UNC-standard threaded holes ranging from number 10-24 minimum to 1/2-13 maximum internal thread size. Compatible host external thread sizes include 3/8-16, 7/16-14, 1/2-13, 9/16-12, and 3/4-10 as specified by the manufacturer. Note that this kit does not include a drill, tap, or installation tool - those must be sourced separately before installation.
Installation of helical thread inserts is typically performed by maintenance technicians, millwrights, or licensed trade professionals as part of equipment repair procedures. Before installing inserts, the damaged hole must be drilled to the correct oversize diameter and tapped with the appropriate insert tap - neither tool is included in this kit. Always de-energize or lock out equipment before performing any thread repair work on powered systems in accordance with applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Follow the insert manufacturer's installation instructions for proper depth and engagement length to ensure full load-bearing capacity of the repaired thread.
