The E-Z LOK 329-918 is a self-locking threaded insert designed to provide a secure, vibration-resistant internal thread in metal assemblies. It features a 9/16-18 UNF internal thread and a 3/4-10 external thread, allowing it to be installed into a standard tapped hole and deliver a smaller, locked thread form inside. Manufactured from C12L14 carbon steel with a smooth, rolled finish, this insert is suited for high-cycle or high-vibration applications where thread integrity must be maintained. Overall length is 21/32 inches (0.656 inches). Licensed tradespeople and mechanical assemblers working with steel or cast components are the primary installers.
This insert is used in applications where a threaded hole must be upsized externally while retaining a specific internal thread size, or where an existing stripped or damaged thread bore needs restoration. The self-lock wall design grips the parent material and resists rotation under load. Typical installation environments include industrial machinery, structural fastening assemblies, and equipment subject to sustained vibration. The 3/4-10 external thread is compatible with a standard tap for that thread size, simplifying installation in properly prepared parent material.
Designed for use in parent materials tapped to 3/4-10 using a standard tap. Suitable for steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous base materials where a 9/16-18 UNF internal thread is required.
Installation requires a standard 3/4-10 tapped hole in the parent material prepared to proper depth before the insert is driven or pressed into place. Power down all equipment and secure the workpiece before beginning thread preparation or insert installation. Follow applicable industry and equipment manufacturer torque and assembly guidelines for the fastener used with the 9/16-18 internal thread. A qualified machinist or mechanical technician should verify thread engagement depth and fit prior to final assembly.
