The E-Z LOK 329-332 is a self-locking threaded insert designed to create a secure, vibration-resistant internal thread in metal assemblies. It features a 10-32 internal thread and a 3/8-16 external thread, both conforming to UNF standards. Made from C12L14 carbon steel with a smooth, rolled finish, it measures 13/32 inches in overall length (0.406 inches decimal). The self-lock wall design resists loosening under vibration or dynamic loading without requiring adhesives or secondary locking hardware. This insert is installed by trade professionals in mechanical, HVAC, and industrial equipment fabrication and repair applications where thread strength and retention are critical.
This insert is suited for use in metal components where a downsized or stripped internal thread needs to be restored or reinforced with a stronger, locking thread form. The 10-32 internal thread class of fit is 2B, and the 3/8-16 external thread class of fit is 2A, making it compatible with standard tapping and installation tooling. It installs into a standard-tapped hole using conventional insertion tools. Typical applications include equipment frames, control panels, and mechanical assemblies found in HVAC, electrical, and industrial trade service environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation locking insert for metal assemblies requiring a 10-32 internal thread retained by a 3/8-16 external thread in a standard UNF-tapped hole.
Installation is performed by machinists, maintenance technicians, or trade professionals using a standard insertion tool sized for the 3/8-16 external thread. Ensure the receiving hole is tapped to the correct 3/8-16 UNF specification before driving the insert. De-energize or lock out any equipment before performing thread repair or insert installation on live assemblies. Do not overtorque the installation tool, as this can damage the self-lock wall feature or the parent material.
