The E-Z LOK 319-M6 is a self-locking threaded insert designed to create a secure, vibration-resistant M6 x 1 internal thread in materials tapped with a standard 3/8-16 external thread. Made from C12L14 carbon steel with a smooth, rolled finish, this insert measures 0.375 inches overall length and installs into a pre-tapped 3/8-16 hole. The self-lock wall design provides resistance to rotation and back-out under load. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical tradespeople install these inserts when restoring stripped threads or adding metric threads to assemblies originally tapped in inch sizes.
The 319-M6 is suited for applications where a metric M6 x 1 thread is needed in a host material already tapped or designed for a 3/8-16 thread. Common use cases include equipment repair, retrofitting metric fastener patterns into standard inch-thread assemblies, and OEM-style thread restoration on metal components. The carbon steel construction makes it appropriate for ferrous metal assemblies in mechanical, HVAC, and light industrial settings. Internal thread class of fit is 2B and external thread class of fit is 2A, meeting standard dimensional tolerances for production and service work.
Designed for installation into host materials tapped with a standard 3/8-16 thread, accepting a standard M6 x 1 metric fastener after installation. For use with a standard tap type as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is typically performed by a qualified mechanic or tradesperson using standard hand or power tools appropriate for the host material. Ensure the host material is tapped to a clean, accurate 3/8-16 thread before driving the insert. Power down and de-energize any equipment before performing thread repair or insert installation on live assemblies. Follow the insert manufacturer's installation instructions and applicable mechanical codes for the specific assembly or equipment type.
