The E-Z LOK 319-8 is a self-locking threaded insert manufactured from C12L14 carbon steel, designed to create strong, vibration-resistant thread engagement in parent materials that require a larger external thread than the desired internal thread. The insert features a 1/2-13 internal thread with a 5/8-11 external thread, both in the UNC thread standard. At 0.62 inches in overall length, it installs using a standard tap and provides a tensile strength of 21,201 pounds. The smooth, rolled finish supports clean installation into pre-tapped holes. These inserts are used by maintenance technicians, millwrights, and mechanical contractors working on structural assemblies and industrial equipment.
The 319-8 is suited for applications where a UNC 1/2-13 threaded connection is needed in a larger host thread of 5/8-11. Common use cases include thread repair in ferrous and non-ferrous base materials, anchor points in fabricated steel assemblies, and original-equipment installations requiring reliable thread locking in high-vibration environments. The self-lock wall design provides resistance to loosening without the need for adhesive compounds. This insert is appropriate for both original assembly and field repair work in industrial and commercial maintenance contexts.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded insert for use in applications requiring a UNC 1/2-13 internal thread installed via a 5/8-11 external thread. Compatible with standard UNC taps as specified for the 5/8-11 external thread size.
Installation is performed by machinists, millwrights, or maintenance technicians using a standard tap sized for the 5/8-11 external thread. Ensure the host material is properly tapped and free of debris before driving the insert. De-energize or lock out any equipment before performing thread repair or insert installation on machinery. Do not exceed the rated tensile load for the insert when specifying fastener engagement depth.
