The E-Z LOK 319-720 is a self-lock wall thread locking insert manufactured from C12L14 carbon steel with a smooth rolled finish. It accepts a 7/16-20 UNF internal thread at a 2B class of fit and installs via a 9/16-12 external thread at a 2A class of fit into a standard-tapped hole. Overall length is 0.56 inches. The insert is designed to create a secure, thread-locked connection in metal assemblies where vibration resistance or thread repair is required. Installation requires no adhesive or staking - the self-lock wall design generates mechanical interference to resist loosening under load.
The 319-720 is suited for use in ferrous and non-ferrous metal components across light industrial, mechanical, and trade applications. Typical scenarios include thread repair in worn or stripped bores, thread strengthening in thin-wall sections, and creating reliable UNF threads in assemblies subject to dynamic loads. The insert is installed using a standard tap for the 9/16-12 external thread, making it compatible with common shop tooling without specialty drivers or installation tools.
Designed as an OEM-style thread locking insert for metal assemblies requiring a 7/16-20 UNF internal thread installed through a 9/16-12 externally tapped hole using a standard tap.
Installation is performed by a machinist or qualified technician. Prepare the bore using a standard 9/16-12 tap before driving the insert. Ensure the host material is clear of chips and debris prior to installation. Follow the assembly manufacturer's torque and preload specifications for the fastener engaging the internal 7/16-20 thread.
