The E-Z LOK 303-332 is a self-locking threaded insert manufactured from 303-grade stainless steel, designed to create a secure, vibration-resistant internal thread in pre-tapped or drilled host material. With a 10-32 UNF internal thread and a 3/8-16 UNF external thread, this insert is installed using a standard tap, then retained in the host by the self-lock wall design that bites into the surrounding material. Overall length is 0.406 inches (13/32 inches). Internal thread class of fit is 2B; external thread class of fit is 2A. The bright finish provides a clean surface suitable for corrosion-exposed environments. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and field service professionals install this type of insert when a damaged or weak thread needs to be repaired or upgraded to a finer internal specification.
This insert is suited for light industrial, HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, pump housings, and other assemblies where a reliable 10-32 thread must be anchored in a 3/8-16 tapped hole. The 303 stainless steel construction handles mild corrosive environments without coating degradation. Applications include OEM manufacturing, field thread repair, and reassembly scenarios where the original thread has been stripped or where a size conversion is required. The compact 0.406-inch length fits shallow boss depths common in sheet metal brackets and cast housings.
Designed as an OEM-style thread repair and conversion insert for assemblies requiring a 10-32 UNF internal thread anchored in a 3/8-16 UNF tapped host - suitable for metal housings, brackets, and enclosures across HVAC, industrial, and electrical applications.
Installation is performed by machinists or qualified maintenance technicians. The host material must be tapped to 3/8-16 UNF using a standard tap before the insert is driven or threaded into place. De-energize and isolate any equipment before performing thread repair work on live assemblies. Do not exceed the host material's thread engagement depth, and inspect the surrounding material for cracking or deformation before installing the insert.
