The E-Z LOK 303-3 is a self-lock wall thread locking insert designed to create a secure, permanent internal thread in materials that require a stronger threaded connection than the base material alone can provide. Machined from grade 303 stainless steel with a bright finish, this insert features a 10-24 internal thread and a 3/8-16 external thread, both UNC standard. It measures 0.406 inches in length and delivers a tensile strength of 3,380 pounds, making it well suited for high-load applications where vibration resistance and thread integrity are critical. Installers across mechanical, industrial, and maintenance trades rely on these inserts when repairing stripped threads or reinforcing thin-wall assemblies.
This insert is used in applications where a standard tap would produce insufficient thread engagement or where thread stripping is a concern. The self-lock wall design grips the parent material during installation to resist rotation and pullout. It is installed using a standard tap and is compatible with common hand or machine tapping operations. Typical use cases include metal fabrication, equipment repair, and precision assembly work in both shop and field environments where stainless steel corrosion resistance is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation thread locking insert for use in metal assemblies requiring a 3/8-16 external thread and a 10-24 internal thread in UNC standard. Install with a standard tap; no specialty tooling required.
Installation is typically performed by machinists, maintenance technicians, or mechanical tradespeople using a standard hand tap or machine tap. Ensure the parent material hole is properly sized and tapped to 3/8-16 UNC before driving the insert. De-energize or lock out any equipment before performing thread repair work on installed machinery. Do not overtighten the insert beyond manufacturer torque guidance for the parent material type.
