The E-Z LOK 240-6-CR is a flush press fit threaded insert designed for installation into plastic substrates. It provides a durable, load-bearing 3/8-16 UNC internal thread in materials that cannot support a direct-cut thread on their own. At 0.625 inches overall length and 0.451 inches insert diameter, this insert presses into a 7/16-inch pre-drilled hole and sits flush with the surface of the host material. Manufactured from Grade 303 stainless steel, it offers reliable corrosion resistance and mechanical strength in demanding service environments. Electricians, equipment assemblers, and maintenance technicians install these inserts when building or repairing plastic housings, enclosures, and structural plastic components.
This insert is suited for residential and light commercial applications wherever a plastic component requires a permanent, flush-finish threaded connection. Typical installation scenarios include control panel enclosures, HVAC plastic housings, pump covers, and equipment mounting plates. The flush design keeps the insert face level with the surrounding material surface, which is critical when mating surfaces or covers must seat flat against the host part. Each package contains 5 inserts with a minimum order quantity of 1.
Designed for use in plastic substrates requiring a flush-finish, press fit threaded insert with a 3/8-16 UNC internal thread and a 7/16-inch prepared hole diameter.
Installation is typically performed by equipment assemblers, maintenance technicians, or trade professionals working on plastic enclosures and housings. Before pressing the insert, drill the host material to the specified 7/16-inch hole diameter using a sharp, correctly sized bit to ensure proper fit and retention. Use an arbor press or a suitable hand press tool to drive the insert flush and square to the surface - do not strike the insert directly with a hammer, as this can crack the surrounding plastic or misalign the insert. Verify that the insert is fully seated and the face is flush before applying any fastener load.
