The DYNABRADE 57920 is a palm-style air-powered orbital sander designed for finishing and surface preparation work across woodworking, metalworking, and composite applications. It operates at up to 20,000 orbits per minute (OPM) and uses a rectangular 4 x 4-5/16 inch pad, making it well suited for flat-surface sanding in tight or contoured areas. The tool runs on compressed air at 90 psig through a 1/4 NPT inlet and requires 9 CFM of airflow at operating pressure. It ships with a vinyl-face pad with clips (part 57999). The compact palm grip design allows extended use with reduced fatigue, and the orbital action delivers a consistent swirl-free finish on wood, metal, and painted surfaces. HVAC, woodworking, and finishing tradespeople are the primary installers.
The DYNABRADE 57920 is used in residential and light commercial finishing environments where a rectangular pad is needed to access corners and flat panel surfaces. The 4 inch pad width makes it effective for cabinet work, door panels, drywall feathering, and metal prep. Its palm-grip form factor suits bench work and on-site finish sanding. The 0.09375 inch (2 mm) orbit diameter delivers a fine, controlled cut suitable for final-pass sanding before coating or painting. A minimum hose size of 0.25 inches is required to maintain adequate airflow.
Designed for use with standard sanding sheets sized for a 4 x 4-5/16 inch rectangular pad. Ships with DYNABRADE part 57999 vinyl-face pad with clips. Requires a compressed air supply at 90 psig with a minimum 1/4 inch hose.
Connection to a compressed air supply should be made by a qualified individual familiar with pneumatic tool safety. Shut off and bleed the air line before attaching or removing the tool. Verify the compressor output meets or exceeds 9 CFM at 90 psig before sustained operation to prevent performance loss. Follow applicable workplace safety and PPE requirements when operating orbital sanders, including eye protection and dust management controls.
