It features a 5/16-24 male threaded mount for secure, direct attachment to compatible sander spindles. Rated at a maximum of 13,000 RPM, this pad delivers consistent backing support for PSA abrasive discs across a range of surface preparation, grinding, and finishing tasks. The medium-density construction balances flexibility and support, making it suitable for both flat and mildly contoured surfaces. Six vacuum holes are included to assist with dust extraction during operation. Abrasive technicians, metalworkers, and finishing trades rely on this pad as a standard replacement component.
This backing pad is intended for random orbital sander applications in industrial production, fabrication shops, auto body finishing, and general metal or wood surface preparation. The PSA adhesive interface allows for fast abrasive disc changes without hardware. The medium grade density suits general-purpose material removal and finishing passes where a firm but slightly compliant backing is required. Installation should be performed by qualified finishing or abrasive tool technicians. Before replacing the backing pad, disconnect the sander from its air supply or power source and allow any rotating components to come to a complete stop. Thread the pad onto the sander spindle by hand until snug, taking care not to overtighten, which can distort the pad face. Confirm the abrasive disc is fully seated and centered on the PSA surface before resuming operation, and never exceed the rated maximum RPM of the pad.
