The DYNABRADE 53979 is a round conversion backing pad designed to retrofit random orbital sanders from a hook and loop abrasive system to an adhesive/PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) mounting system, or vice versa. The pad measures 5 inches in diameter and features a hook and loop face on one side with a PSA adhesive back on the other, allowing the installer to switch abrasive attachment styles on compatible tools without replacing the entire sander. It includes 5 vacuum holes to support dust extraction during use. This pad is installed by abrasive finishing professionals, painters, and bodywork technicians working with pneumatic or electric random orbital sanders.
