The DWYER L4-SS is a stainless steel liquid level float switch designed for industrial and commercial fluid control applications. It uses a single pole, double throw (SPDT) float mechanism to detect liquid levels and trigger control actions such as pump activation, valve operation, or alarm annunciation. The unit accepts a 1-1/2 inch threaded connection, handles pressures up to 100 psi, and is rated for temperatures from 4 degrees F up to 275 degrees F. The stainless steel stem construction makes it suitable for use in corrosive or demanding process environments. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and instrumentation technicians are the primary installers of this type of device.
The L4-SS is used in a wide range of liquid level monitoring and control scenarios. Common applications include automatic tank dump operation, direct pump control for level maintenance, and level alarms in sumps, scrubber systems, hydro-pneumatic tanks, boilers, and water and wastewater treatment processes. It is also used for valve control in both residential and industrial-scale systems wherever a reliable mechanical float switch with a threaded tank or vessel connection is required.

Ensure the thread type and sealant are compatible with the process fluid before making up the threaded connection. Verify switch wiring conforms to NEC requirements for the control voltage and load being switched.
