The DURA PLASTIC PVC80BUSHSPS11234 is a flush socket reducer bushing manufactured from PVC Schedule 80 material. It transitions a 1-1/2 inch line down to a 3/4 inch line using a spigot inlet and a socket outlet. The spigot end inserts directly into a standard Schedule 80 socket fitting, while the socket end accepts a 3/4 inch pipe or fitting. This configuration keeps the bushing flush within the fitting rather than projecting outward, which is useful in tight installations. Plumbers and pipefitters install this bushing in pressure piping systems where reducing a line without adding extra fittings or nipples is required.
This reducer bushing is suited for commercial and residential pressure piping applications including industrial process lines, irrigation systems, and chemical handling systems where Schedule 80 wall thickness is specified. The spigot-by-socket end configuration allows direct integration into existing Schedule 80 socket assemblies without additional adapters. It is commonly used wherever a flush profile is necessary due to spatial constraints or design requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for PVC Schedule 80 pressure piping systems requiring a 1-1/2 inch spigot inlet to 3/4 inch socket outlet reducer bushing.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Solvent-cement all joints using a PVC-compatible primer and cement rated for Schedule 80 pressure service. Depressurize and drain the system fully before cutting into any existing line. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring pressure to the system.
