The DURA PLASTIC PVC8090L12 is a 1/2-inch socket-by-socket 90-degree elbow fitting manufactured to PVC Schedule 80 standards. It is designed to change flow direction by 90 degrees in pressurized or gravity-fed piping systems where greater wall thickness and higher pressure ratings are required compared to Schedule 40 fittings. The socket ends accept 1/2-inch pipe and are solvent-welded to form a permanent, leak-resistant joint. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in industrial, commercial, and residential applications where chemical resistance and added mechanical strength are priorities.
This elbow is suited for use in cold and hot water distribution, irrigation, chemical handling, and pool and spa plumbing systems where PVC Schedule 80 material is specified. It connects via solvent cement to standard 1/2-inch PVC Schedule 80 pipe and conforms to typical Schedule 80 dimensional standards. It is a common choice when system operating pressures, UV exposure with additional coating, or corrosive media demand heavier-wall construction over standard Schedule 40 components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 1/2-inch PVC Schedule 80 piping systems using solvent-weld socket connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting into an existing system. Clean and dry pipe ends thoroughly, apply the correct PVC Schedule 80 solvent cement, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Do not use solvent cements rated only for Schedule 40 fittings on Schedule 80 assemblies.
