The DURA PLASTIC PVC40TRED221 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing tee designed for pressure piping systems. It features a 2 inch by 2 inch run with a 1 inch branch outlet, all in a slip socket configuration. This fitting joins or branches PVC pressure lines while stepping down the branch diameter in a single component. Licensed plumbers, pool service technicians, and irrigation contractors install this fitting when a branch connection at a reduced size is needed in a Schedule 40 system. The slip connections accept solvent-welded pipe for a leak-free, permanent joint.
This reducing tee suits residential and light commercial PVC pressure piping applications including potable water supply, pool and spa plumbing, irrigation, and general industrial fluid handling. The 2 inch main run handles trunk lines while the 1 inch branch serves lower-flow distribution legs. It is appropriate for above-ground, below-ground, and embedded installations where Schedule 40 pressure fittings meet system design requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 40 pressure fitting compatible with standard 2 inch and 1 inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe in solvent-welded pressure piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified piping contractors following local plumbing codes and ASTM D2466 requirements for Schedule 40 PVC fittings. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before cutting into an existing system. Use a dedicated PVC primer and solvent cement rated for the service conditions, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Do not apply heat to solvent-welded PVC joints or attempt to disassemble a bonded fitting.
