The DUMONT MINUTE MAN 66607 is a square broach designed for precision broaching of square holes in metal workpieces. It measures 5/16 inches in cross-section with an overall length of 7-7/8 inches and requires a 21/64 inches pilot hole diameter for proper alignment and entry. The broach holds a dimensional tolerance of 0.313 to 0.314 inches and spans 0.437 to 0.439 inches across corners. Pitch is 7/32 inches, with a length of cut (LOC) range of 3/8 to 1 inches and a maximum pressure rating of 2,100 pounds for the maximum LOC. This tool is installed by machinists and toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press.
The 66607 square broach is suited for creating precise square bores in fixtures, jigs, and drive components. Typical applications include keyway-style square hole broaching in metal parts during manufacturing, assembly, or repair operations. The uncoated finish is appropriate for standard broaching operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This broach performs in both production and maintenance environments where accurate square hole geometry is required.
Designed for use in square broaching operations on fixtures, jigs, and drive components requiring a 5/16 inches square bore with a 21/64 inches pilot hole.
Installation requires an arbor press or hydraulic press capable of sustaining the rated broaching pressure. The workpiece must be fixtured securely and the pilot hole must be drilled to the specified 21/64 inches diameter before broaching begins. Always apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to reduce heat and extend tool life. Follow applicable shop safety practices when operating pressing equipment.
