The DUMONT MINUTE MAN 55555 is a Style AF keyseating broach designed for cutting keyways in bores, housings, and machined components. With a 1/4-inch body width and 16-inch overall length, this tool removes material in a linear push or pull stroke to produce precise, straight keyways. The uncoated finish suits standard machining applications where base high-speed steel performance is sufficient. It is used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians working with keyway broaching equipment or arbor presses.
This broach is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where consistent keyway dimensions are required. The Style AF designation identifies the broach profile and shank geometry for use with compatible broaching fixtures and holders. The 3/8-inch tooth pitch and 3/4-inch maximum height at teeth support controlled chip load and smooth cutting action in ferrous and non-ferrous materials across a range of bore sizes requiring a 1/4-inch keyway.
Designed for use with keyseating broaching machines and fixtures that accept Style AF broach geometry and a 1/4-inch body width profile.
Keyseating broaches are installed and operated by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians using compatible broaching machines or arbor presses. Ensure the broach is properly aligned with the fixture and bushing before initiating the stroke to prevent tool deflection or breakage. Keep hands clear of the cutting path and wear appropriate eye and hand protection. Follow the machine manufacturer's recommended operating procedures for stroke speed and broach retention.
