The DUMONT MINUTE MAN 44440 is a Style C collared broach bushing with an overall diameter of 22mm (approximately 0.866 inches). This bushing guides and supports broaching tools during keyway, spline, and shaped-hole operations, maintaining precise alignment between the broach and the workpiece. It is used in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments where repeatable, accurate broaching is required. The collared design positively locates the bushing within the press or fixture, preventing axial movement during the cut. Installation is typically performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This bushing is suited for rotary broaching and push-broaching applications on metalworking lathes, arbor presses, and broaching fixtures. The plain, collared style makes it compatible with standard broach bushing pockets that accept a 22mm outer diameter with a retaining collar. It is commonly used when machining keyways, hex bores, or other non-round profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces across both production and job-shop settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for broaching fixtures and presses that accept a 22mm collared bushing in Style C configuration.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the press or fixture is fully de-energized and at rest before inserting or removing the bushing. Press the bushing squarely into the fixture pocket to avoid cocking or misalignment, which can damage the broach or workpiece. Verify that the bushing collar seats flush against the fixture face before beginning the broaching operation.
