The DORMONT mau1-10-12s is a steel tube-to-pipe adapter designed to connect a gas connector to an appliance gas inlet, gas ball valve, or gas supply pipe. Built from zinc-plated steel, this fitting offers a durable, corrosion-resistant connection point in residential and light commercial gas piping systems. The flare end accepts the gas connector nut, while the female NPT end threads onto the appliance inlet or supply stub-out. Rated to 1/2 psi and suitable for temperatures from -40 to 150 degrees F, it is intended for use with 5/8 inch OD gas connectors on appliances with moderate BTU demands. Licensed gas fitters and plumbers are the typical installers.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial settings where a flare-to-female-pipe transition is required at the appliance connection point. Typical applications include 5- and 6-burner ranges, furnaces, and boilers that use 5/8 inch OD gas connectors with a 15/16-16 thread. The fitting spans 1.78 inches in length with a 1-1/8 inch hex for standard wrench engagement, making it straightforward to install in tight appliance bays or utility closets where space is limited.
Designed for use with 5/8 inch OD (15/16-16 thread) gas connectors on appliances with moderate BTU demands, including 5- and 6-burner ranges, furnaces, and boilers. Connects to appliance gas inlets, gas ball valves, or gas supply stub-outs with a 3/4 inch FNPT connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with local codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Shut off the gas supply at the meter or service valve and verify zero pressure before making or breaking any gas connections. Apply an approved gas-rated thread sealant or tape to the NPT threads only — never apply sealant to the flare end. After installation, test all connections for leaks using an approved leak-detection solution before restoring gas service.
