The DORIAN TOOL 73310195447 is a solid carbide, PVD-coated triangular milling insert designed for use in indexable milling toolholders. Part of the TDEX series, it carries a DPP30UM manufacturer grade and is engineered specifically for steel machining applications within the P15-P30 material grade range. The insert features a positive rake geometry, a 15-degree relief angle, and a neutral hand orientation, making it suitable for efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. It is held in place by a screw-lock method and is a single-sided design. Machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments install this insert in compatible TDEX-style milling bodies.
This insert is intended for milling steel workpieces in both production and maintenance machining environments. The DPP chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation during face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling operations. The P15-P30 grade range covers low- to medium-alloyed steels and cast steels, making this insert a practical choice for shops working across a range of ferrous materials. It ships individually and is available in minimum order quantities of 5 units, consistent with standard indexable insert procurement practices.
Designed for use in TDEX-series indexable milling toolholders accepting TDEX-160304 seat geometry. ANSI and ISO designation: TDEX-160304-XDEN-DPP30UM. Verify toolholder seat specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure - do not overtighten or cross-thread the screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
