The DORIAN TOOL 73310171756 is a TPHT32.52-UEN series carbide turning insert finished with a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) TiN coating. It features a triangular insert shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle (0.3750 inches), and a 1/32-inch corner radius (0.0313 inches). The DPP30GT manufacturer grade delivers moderate wear-resistance and toughness, making it well-suited for general steel and stainless steel turning applications. The insert is screw-held, runs with a positive rake angle of 7 degrees, and uses a honed cutting edge style. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators install this insert in compatible toolholders for precision external and internal turning operations.
This insert is designed for turning steel (P) and stainless steel (M) workpiece materials where moderate wear-resistance combined with toughness is required. The UEN chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during moderate cutting passes, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.2400 inches (6.10 mm). It is appropriate for both light finishing and moderate roughing passes on steel and stainless steel components in production or job-shop environments. The neutral hand orientation allows for flexible setup in a variety of turning configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement carbide turning insert for TPHT-series screw-clamping toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. ANSI insert code TPHT32.52; ISO insert code TPHT16T308. Material grade designations C6 and C7 apply.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC operators following standard toolholder manufacturer torque and seating procedures for screw-held inserts. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge during installation.
