The DORIAN TOOL 73310158078 is an indexable threading toolholder designed for external, right-hand thread cutting on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built in the On Edge Jet-Stream series, it uses a screw-clamping method to secure TNMC-style inserts up to the 322 size, with a compatible insert inscribed circle of 0.375 inches. The toolholder features a 0.75 x 0.75 inch shank and an overall length of 4.5 inches. Maximum depth of cut is 0.15 inches. It is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians in production and job-shop environments where repeatable thread-form accuracy is required.
This toolholder is suited for external threading operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in both production and job-shop turning setups. The STVO-style toolholder geometry positions the insert on-edge for improved chip control during threading passes. With a head length of 1.0 inch and a back-of-bar to cutting-edge dimension of 0.875 inches, it fits standard tool blocks and quick-change toolpost systems common to most flat-bed lathes. No coolant-through capability is included; this model uses standard external coolant delivery.
Compatible with TNMC-style inserts up to insert size 322, with a compatible insert size code of 332 and an insert inscribed circle of 0.375 inches. Designed for use in standard external threading applications on flat-bed and CNC turning centers that accept a 0.75-inch square shank toolholder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the toolholder firmly in the tool block or quick-change post before operation, and verify insert seating and screw torque according to the insert manufacturer's guidelines. Shut down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts or repositioning the toolholder. Confirm centerline height alignment before taking threading passes to avoid thread-form errors.
