The DORIAN TOOL 73310101592 is a Series CA 5C collet holder designed for use on engine lathes with a swing range of 16 to 20 inches (400 to 500 mm). It mounts to a quick-change tool post and accepts standard 5C collets, allowing machinists to hold round, hex, and square bar stock with consistent centerline repeatability. The holder measures 5 inches overall length and 2.75 inches overall height, with a centerline height of 1.9375 inches. It weighs 3 pounds. This holder is built for production turning and toolroom applications where accurate collet work is required.
This holder is suited for manual engine lathes in job shop, toolroom, and light production environments. It fits lathes in the 16 to 20 inch swing class and is compatible with the Series CA quick-change tool post system. Typical applications include turning from bar stock, second-operation work, and any setup where a 5C collet provides a more repeatable grip than a standard three-jaw chuck. No through-coolant feature is present on this holder.
Designed for use with Series CA quick-change tool post systems on engine lathes with a swing range of 16 to 20 inches (400 to 500 mm).
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician familiar with quick-change tool post systems. Power down and bring the lathe spindle to a full stop before changing or adjusting any tool post holder. Verify centerline height against your lathe spindle centerline before taking the first cut and adjust the tool post or shim as needed. Confirm that the 5C collet is fully seated and the drawtube is properly tightened before starting the spindle.
