The DON-JO BF161PC is a hole filler plate designed to cover and conceal bored holes in door faces, typically left behind after lock removal, hardware upgrades, or door repurposing. The plate ships in a prime coat finish, making it ready for field painting to match the surrounding door surface. Measuring 4.15 inches in length and 2.12 inches in width, it covers standard 2-1/8 inch bored holes commonly found on residential and light commercial doors. At 0.2 pounds, it is a lightweight, straightforward repair component installed by locksmiths, carpenters, and door hardware technicians.
This plate is suited for wood or hollow metal doors where an existing bored hole needs to be covered after lock hardware is removed or relocated. The prime coat finish allows the installer to apply a finish coat that blends with the door, making it appropriate for both repair and renovation applications. It is sold individually and is also available in case quantities of 10 units for contractors working multiple doors.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement filler plate for standard 2-1/8 inch bored hole doors in residential and light commercial door applications.
Installation is typically performed by a locksmith, finish carpenter, or door hardware technician. The existing door surface should be clean and free of debris before mounting the plate. Fasten the plate using appropriate fasteners for the door substrate, and apply finish paint after installation to achieve a uniform appearance. Verify door thickness and hole diameter before installation to confirm fitment.
