The DO IT 702196 is a fine-thread bugle-head drywall screw designed for smooth driving and strong holding power in a range of interior applications. Built from hardened steel produced through a heat treatment, quenching, and reheating process, this screw resists wear, corrosion, and abrasion better than standard carbon steel fasteners. It features a No. 2 Phillips recess and a phosphate finish that reduces friction during installation and improves corrosion resistance. Each box contains 1 pound of 6x2 inch screws, giving crews a practical quantity for job-site use.
This screw is suited for attaching drywall panels to wood framing and light-gauge metal studs in the 20 to 25-gauge range. It also works for plywood, softwood, and drywall hardware in residential and light commercial interior construction. The fine thread pattern provides greater bite in both wood and thin metal substrates, making it a go-to fastener for drywalling, remodeling, and rough carpentry tasks where interior conditions apply.
Designed for interior use with wood framing and light-gauge metal studs in the 20 to 25-gauge range. Also compatible with plywood, softwood, and standard drywall hardware installations.
Installed by finish carpenters, drywall hangers, and general contractors using a screw gun or drill driver with a No. 2 Phillips bit. Set the driver clutch to avoid overdriving and damaging the drywall face paper. These screws are rated for interior use only and should not be used in exterior or high-moisture environments. Follow applicable building codes for fastener spacing when installing drywall panels.
