The DO IT 702161 is a fine-thread bugle-head drywall screw designed for smooth driving and strong holding power in drywall, plywood, softwood, and light-gauge metal studs ranging from 20 to 25 gauge. The No. 2 Phillips recess drive reduces cam-out during installation. Each screw is constructed of hardened steel produced through heat treatment and quenching, resulting in a fastener that resists wear, corrosion, and abrasion. A phosphate finish adds a layer of surface protection. This box contains 1 pound of screws and is intended for interior applications.
These screws are well suited for residential and light commercial interior work. Typical applications include attaching drywall panels to wood framing or 20- to 25-gauge metal studs, fastening plywood sheathing, and securing softwood assemblies. The fine thread pattern provides a tighter bite in both wood and thin metal, reducing the chance of stripping in lower-density substrates. The standard bugle head countersinks cleanly into drywall face paper without tearing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fastener for interior drywall installation applications involving wood framing or 20- to 25-gauge metal stud construction.
Installation is performed by drywall hangers, carpenters, and general contractors using a variable-speed screw gun or drill with a No. 2 Phillips bit. Set the clutch depth to avoid overdriving and breaking the drywall face paper. These screws are rated for interior use only and should not be used in exterior or high-moisture environments. Keep fasteners dry during storage to preserve the phosphate finish.
