The DIXON VALVE COUPLING 1260404C is a brass barbed hose fitting designed to create a secure, leak-resistant connection between a threaded female port and a flexible hose line. The fitting uses a hose barb gasket seat on one end and a female NPSM swivel thread on the other, allowing the hose to be seated and clamped without twisting. Built from brass, it resists corrosion in water, air, and light fluid transfer applications. The 1/4 inch barb accepts 1/4 inch inside diameter hose, and the 1/4 inch NPSM female swivel thread connects to standard male-threaded fittings. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general mechanical contractors install this type of fitting in low-pressure fluid and pneumatic lines.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC condensate lines, compressed air distribution, and general-purpose fluid handling where a flexible hose must terminate at a threaded female connection. The swivel design simplifies installation by letting the fitting body rotate independently during hand-tightening, reducing hose kink and thread cross-threading risk. It is appropriate for use in tight spaces where hose alignment is difficult to control.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with 1/4 inch inside diameter flexible hose and 1/4 inch female NPSM swivel threaded connections in plumbing, HVAC, and pneumatic applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians in most jurisdictions. Shut off water supply or depressurize the air line before removing any existing fitting. Slide the hose clamp onto the hose before seating the barb, then push the hose firmly over the barb and position the clamp behind the first barb. Hand-tighten the swivel nut before applying a final snug turn with a wrench — do not overtighten, as brass threads can strip or distort the gasket seat.
