The DIVERSITECH TP-LD is a handheld refrigerant leak detector designed for HVAC technicians working with CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants. It operates on a heated semiconductor gas sensor, providing reliable detection across a wide range of refrigerant types. The unit features a high-low sensitivity selector that lets the technician adjust detection threshold on the job, a 7-LED tri-color visual leak level indicator for at-a-glance readings, and an audible alarm that increases in frequency as leak concentration rises. An ambient concentration reset function allows the tech to zero out background levels before scanning. The kit includes a carrying case and two AA batteries, ready for immediate field use.
This leak detector is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC service work. Technicians use it during system commissioning, routine maintenance, and leak-search diagnostics on split systems, package units, and refrigeration equipment. The 15.5-inch flexible stainless steel probe reaches into coil sections, behind panels, and into tight equipment compartments where direct line-of-sight is not possible. The detector's equal sensitivity to CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants makes it a single-tool solution for shops servicing multiple refrigerant types.
Designed for use with CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants. Suitable for leak detection on residential and commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems using common halogenated refrigerant types.
This instrument is serviced and operated by licensed HVAC technicians. Before scanning, allow the detector to warm up fully per the manufacturer startup sequence and use the ambient reset in any area with known background refrigerant presence. Keep the probe tip away from open flame, compressor oil mist, and other contaminants that can foul the semiconductor sensor. Replace batteries as indicated to maintain consistent sensor performance.
