The DIVERSITECH TP-CS2 is an auxiliary condensate drain line overflow switch designed to protect structures from water damage caused by clogged AC condensate drain lines. When water rises in the auxiliary or main drain pipe, the switch detects the elevated level and shuts down the air conditioning system before overflow occurs. The TP-CS2 uses a magnetic reed float mechanism, which resists rust and sticking for consistent, repeatable operation. An integrated LED indicator alerts both homeowners and technicians when the switch has been activated, simplifying diagnostics after a nuisance shutdown. A pull-to-test lever allows verification of correct installation without waiting for an actual overflow condition.
This switch is suited for residential and light commercial split-system and packaged air conditioning installations where auxiliary or primary drain pan protection is required. It is typically installed in the auxiliary drain pan or condensate drain line of a ducted cooling system. The six-foot lead wire provides flexibility in routing to the low-voltage control circuit, making it adaptable to a wide range of equipment configurations and tight equipment closet installs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation auxiliary overflow switch for residential and light commercial air conditioning condensate drain lines and auxiliary drain pans.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect power to the air conditioning system and set the thermostat to the off position before wiring the switch into the low-voltage control circuit. The switch is typically wired in series with the 24-volt control circuit so that a high water condition interrupts the call for cooling. Follow local mechanical and electrical codes when routing and securing the lead wire.
