The DIVERSITECH S5000 is a 5-piece swaging tool set designed for field copper tubing connections in HVAC/R service and installation work. The set includes five bits sized for 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, and 3/4 inch outside-diameter tubing, covering the most common line sizes encountered in residential and light-commercial refrigeration work. The heat-by-friction swaging method keeps copper malleable during the process, preserving wall thickness and producing leak-tight joints suited for high-pressure refrigerant systems. The bits are driven by a standard corded or cordless drill at 1,800 RPM or faster. Licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the primary users of this tool set.
The S5000 is well-suited for mini-split and ductless air-conditioning installations where direct tube-to-tube connections are preferred over sleeve fittings or unions. It works with both hard-drawn and soft-tempered copper tubing, making it versatile across new construction, retrofit, and service-call scenarios. Eliminating extra fittings reduces material cost and the number of potential leak points in a completed refrigerant circuit. The compact packaged size makes it practical for a field service bag or technician van.
Developed for hard and soft copper tubing in 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, and 3/4 inch outside-diameter sizes. Suitable for HVAC/R applications including mini-split and ductless air-conditioning systems.
This tool is installed and operated by licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics. Recover all refrigerant and depressurize the system before cutting or swaging any tubing in an active circuit. Use only a standard drill at 1,800 RPM or faster - never use an impact gun or a drill set to hammer or impact mode, as this will degrade swage quality and can result in leaking joints. Follow applicable refrigerant handling regulations under EPA Section 608 when working on sealed systems.
