The DIVERSITECH PP4 is a PVC purple primer designed to prepare PVC pipe and fittings before solvent cement is applied. The purple dye provides clear visual confirmation that all contact surfaces have been properly coated, which supports inspection compliance in both plumbing and HVAC condensate drain applications. This 4 oz container is sized for field and service-truck use. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians use this primer as a required step before joining PVC pipe with solvent cement in drain, waste, and condensate piping systems.
The PP4 is used in residential and light commercial applications wherever PVC pipe joints require primer before cementing. Common install scenarios include HVAC condensate drain lines, plumbing drain and vent stacks, and other low-pressure PVC piping systems. The purple color is the standard industry indicator that primer has been applied, which is required by many local plumbing codes and inspection regimes.
Designed for use on PVC pipe and fittings as a pre-cement primer in plumbing and HVAC condensate drain piping systems.
Primer should be applied by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and the pipe manufacturer guidelines. Apply primer to both the pipe end and fitting socket, allow it to flash off briefly, then apply solvent cement while surfaces are still wet with primer. Work in a well-ventilated area and avoid open flame, as primer contains flammable solvents.
