The DIVERSITECH MEC-760 is a compression-type conduit coupling designed for use with 1/2 inch EMT conduit. It creates a secure, concrete-tight connection between two sections of electrical metallic tubing without requiring tools beyond standard hand tightening. Constructed from steel, the MEC-760 meets UL 514B requirements for concrete-tight fittings, making it suitable for installations where conduit runs through or adjacent to concrete structures. Electricians rely on this style of coupling for both rough-in and finish work on branch circuit conduit runs in commercial and residential construction.
This coupling is used on 1/2 inch EMT conduit systems in standard electrical installations. The compression design provides a reliable mechanical connection that maintains conduit integrity through walls, floors, and concrete pours. It is well suited for new construction wiring, conduit retrofit work, and any application where a listed, concrete-tight EMT coupling is required by code. It is sold individually but is also available in standard packs of 250 units, making it practical for larger conduit installations.
Designed for use on 1/2 inch EMT conduit as a compression-type coupling replacement or new-installation fitting.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians following applicable NEC requirements for EMT conduit systems. De-energize all circuits in the conduit run before making connections. Ensure conduit ends are cut cleanly and deburred before seating them into the coupling body. Compression couplings should be tightened to manufacturer guidance using appropriate conduit wrenches to achieve a concrete-tight seal where required by the installation environment.
