The DIVERSITECH DIVE-CS-1 is a tee-style condensate overflow switch designed to protect structures from water damage caused by clogged air conditioning drain lines. When the water level in a main or auxiliary drain pipe rises beyond a set threshold, the switch interrupts the system signal and shuts down the air handler or condensing unit before overflow can occur. At its core is a magnetic reed switch constructed from corrosion-resistant materials that resist rust and sticking, ensuring consistent operation over repeated cycles. HVAC technicians install this device as a reliable safeguard in residential and light commercial cooling systems.
The DIVE-CS-1 is intended for use in HVAC condensate drain applications where overflow protection is required. Its tee-style form factor allows it to be inserted directly into the condensate drain line without modifying the existing drain path. It is a practical addition to any installation where the drain pan or drain line has a history of clogging, or where local codes or best practices call for secondary protection against condensate backup and the associated ceiling, wall, and flooring damage.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation condensate overflow switch for residential and light commercial HVAC systems equipped with main or auxiliary condensate drain lines.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Power down the air handler and disconnect the low-voltage control circuit before wiring the switch in series with the thermostat or control board signal. Insert the tee fitting into the condensate drain line at the appropriate location per the drain layout and local jurisdiction requirements. Verify that the switch interrupts system operation correctly before returning the unit to service.
