The DITEK DTK-2MHLP75FWB is a modular surge protective device designed for fire alarm signal circuits rated at 75 volts. It provides transient overvoltage protection on 2-pair wiring runs, using a load-removable modular design that allows the protective module to be swapped out without disturbing field wiring. This device is intended for use in fire alarm and life-safety systems where maintaining circuit integrity is critical. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage contractors are the primary installers. The load-removable feature reduces system downtime during maintenance or module replacement, keeping the base and field terminations intact while the surge module is serviced.
This surge protector is suited for fire alarm control panel installations where signal or initiating device circuit wiring requires transient protection. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit applications where 2-pair, 75-volt fire alarm circuits are exposed to lightning-induced surges or switching transients. The modular base design supports organized, labeled wiring in control panels and junction enclosures. Fire alarm system contractors working under NFPA 72 guidelines will find the removable module format compatible with service requirements common to monitored life-safety installations.
Designed as an OEM-style surge protective device for 75-volt, 2-pair fire alarm signal circuits in residential and commercial life-safety installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or fire alarm contractor in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm circuit at the control panel before connecting or removing the surge module. Mount the base securely at the panel or field enclosure entry point so that protected and unprotected conductors remain separated. Do not install on circuits with operating voltages exceeding the 75-volt rating of this device.
