The DISSTON COMPANY 160363 is a No. 2 Phillips drywall bit engineered to automatically countersink screws to the correct depth in drywall, particle board, and plywood. The depth-setting collar controls screw drive depth on contact, reducing overdriving and surface damage without requiring repeated manual adjustments. At 3.86 inches in length, the bit fits standard power drills and screw guns used in drywall and light framing work. Electricians, drywall finishers, and general contractors reach for this type of bit when hanging wallboard or fastening sheet goods where consistent screw depth matters for finish quality.
This bit is suited for residential and light commercial drywall installation, particle board substrate work, and plywood fastening applications. The No. 2 Phillips profile is the standard drive size for drywall screws. It is sold as a single bit and is compatible with any 1/4-inch hex quick-change chuck, making it practical for high-volume screw driving tasks on the jobsite or in a shop environment.
Designed for use with drywall screws in drywall, particle board, and plywood substrates. Fits any power drill or screw gun equipped with a standard 1/4-inch hex quick-change chuck.
Install in a 1/4-inch hex quick-change chuck and confirm the chuck is fully seated before operating the tool. Set the tool clutch to the appropriate torque range for the substrate to work in combination with the bit depth collar. Inspect the Phillips tip for wear regularly, as a worn tip will cam out under load and damage screw heads. No electrical shutoff or gas isolation is required for this hand-tool accessory.
