The DICO 7100042 is a brown tripoli polishing compound formulated for cut polishing operations on base metals and plastic surfaces. Tripoli is a mildly abrasive compound used in the early stages of the polishing process to remove surface scratches, light oxidation, and machining marks before finer finishing steps. Weighing 0.25 pounds, this is a compact, single-unit bar suited for bench polishing setups, buffing wheels, and handheld applications. It is used by machinists, fabricators, plumbers, and HVAC technicians when finishing copper, brass, aluminum, and similar base metal fittings or plastic components.
This compound is appropriate for use in light industrial, trade, and workshop environments where a cut stage is needed before final color buffing. Typical applications include deburring and surface prep on copper pipe fittings, brass valves, aluminum housings, and plastic trim components. It is applied with a cotton or sisal buffing wheel on a bench grinder or polishing motor and is well suited for small-part finishing common in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical trades.

Apply compound sparingly to the wheel while the wheel is in motion. Follow cut-stage tripoli work with a finer color compound if a high-gloss finish is required.
