The DEWALT DWA56205 is a carbide-tipped rotary hammer drill bit designed for drilling into concrete and masonry. The cutting tip is ground to a spear profile, concentrating impact force at the point of entry and improving penetration through hard aggregate. The high-speed steel body absorbs the repeated hammer blows of a rotary hammer without fracturing. At 5.25 inches overall length with 3.25 inches of usable flute length, this bit handles standard anchor and fastener holes in concrete block, poured concrete, and similar masonry substrates. It is installed and used by licensed electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians who need clean, accurate holes for anchoring conduit, pipe supports, and equipment mounting hardware.
This bit is suited for light to medium-duty rotary hammer work in residential and light commercial applications. The 5/16-inch diameter matches common anchor sleeve and drop-in anchor requirements for trade rough-in and equipment mounting. The round-with-flats shank seats securely in SDS-style and keyed chuck rotary hammers that accept this shank type. Two flutes clear debris from the bore as the bit advances, reducing heat buildup and bit binding in dense masonry.
Designed for use with rotary hammer drills that accept a round-with-flats shank in 5/16-inch diameter. Suitable for drilling into concrete and masonry workpiece materials.
Always power down and disconnect the rotary hammer from its power source before changing bits. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and hearing protection when operating rotary hammer equipment. Verify the chuck type on the host tool accepts a round-with-flats shank before installation. Follow applicable OSHA and jobsite safety requirements when drilling into concrete or masonry near embedded utilities or structural elements.
