The DEWALT DW5920 is a carbide-tipped SDS Max core bit designed for heavy-duty rotary hammer drilling in concrete, masonry, and similar hard materials. Measuring 3-1/4 inches in diameter and 12 inches in length, this single-piece bit fits SDS Max chuck rotary hammers commonly used by concrete and masonry trades. The carbide construction provides the durability required for core drilling through reinforced and unreinforced concrete. It is sold as a single unit and is suited for professionals drilling conduit, pipe, and mechanical penetrations through structural slabs and walls.
This bit is used in commercial and residential construction where large-diameter core holes are required through concrete or masonry. Typical applications include mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-in work where penetrations through concrete floors, foundation walls, or block walls are needed. The 3-1/4 inch diameter accommodates standard pipe and conduit sleeves common in trade rough-in applications. The 12 inch length provides adequate depth capacity for most standard wall and slab thicknesses.
Designed for use with SDS Max rotary hammers. Fits any tool equipped with a standard SDS Max chuck interface.
Installation should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with rotary hammer operation and core drilling procedures. Ensure the rotary hammer is powered off and the bit is fully seated and locked in the SDS Max chuck before drilling. Use appropriate water or dust management methods as required by site conditions and local codes. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye and hearing protection when operating rotary hammer equipment.
