The DEWALT DW5221 is a premium carbide-tipped percussion hammer drill bit engineered for drilling small-diameter holes in hard masonry materials. The rock carbide tip delivers the impact resistance needed to cut through concrete, brick, block, natural stone, and artificial stone without premature wear. At 1/8 inch in diameter and 3 inches in overall length, this bit is sized for anchor pilot holes and other small-bore masonry work. It fits standard 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch keyed or keyless chucks, making it compatible with the rotary hammer drills and hammer drills already on most job sites.
This bit is used primarily in residential and commercial construction and renovation where mechanical anchors must be set into masonry or concrete substrates. Typical applications include setting sleeve anchors, drop-in anchors, and similar fasteners in foundation walls, concrete slabs, block walls, and stone. The 1/8-inch diameter is well suited for light-duty anchor applications where a small pilot or full-diameter hole is required in confined spaces or near edges where larger bits could cause spalling.
Designed for use with standard 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch chuck hammer drills and rotary hammer drills used in masonry and concrete drilling applications.
Install and remove this bit only with the drill powered off and the chuck fully released. Wear appropriate eye protection and a dust mask when drilling masonry or concrete, as silica-containing dust is generated. Drilling should follow applicable OSHA silica exposure guidelines and any local jobsite safety requirements. Do not use this bit in a standard drill without percussion or hammer mode engaged, as this will cause rapid tip wear and may damage the substrate.
