The DEWALT DW3712H2 is a high-carbon steel (HCS) jig saw blade designed for down-cutting laminate surfaces. At 4 inches in length with a 10 teeth-per-inch (TPI) tooth configuration, it produces clean cuts on the face of laminate panels by directing the cutting action downward, reducing chip-out and tear-out on finished surfaces. The U-shank mount provides broad compatibility with jig saws that accept the universal shank standard. Each pack contains 2 blades. Carpenters, finish carpenters, and countertop installers commonly reach for this blade when cutting laminate countertops, flooring, or faced sheet goods.
This blade is suited for residential and light commercial finish work where surface quality on laminate is the priority. Typical applications include cutting laminate countertop sections, laminate flooring planks, and melamine-faced panels. The down-cutting tooth geometry keeps the good face of the workpiece facing up during the cut, which is the standard approach when working with laminate on a jig saw. The 2-blade pack is practical for job sites where blades are consumed across multiple cuts or multiple users.
Designed for use in jig saws equipped with a U-shank (universal shank) blade clamp. Suited for cutting laminate, melamine-faced panels, and similar wood-based sheet goods.
Blade changes should be performed with the jig saw unplugged or the battery pack removed. Confirm the U-shank clamp mechanism is fully engaged and the blade is seated before powering the tool. Use appropriate eye and hand protection when handling and changing blades. Follow the tool manufacturer guidelines for blade clamp torque and secure fitment.
