The DEWALT dce710b is a cordless, battery-powered pipe prep tool designed exclusively for deburring the inside and outside edges of pipe and circular tubing. It runs on the 20V MAX platform and accepts a wide range of pipe materials, including hard and soft copper, PVC, CPVC, EMT, RMT, and black iron. A variable speed switch and paddle trigger give the installer precise control over cutting speed. Nominal pipe and tubing capacity is 3/8 inch to 2 inches. The tool ships as a bare tool only — no battery or charger is included. At 4.586 pounds, it is built for sustained field use without adding significant weight to the tool bag.
The dce710b is suited for plumbers, pipefitters, and electrical conduit installers working in both residential and commercial environments. It eliminates the need for manual reamers and deburring knives by delivering consistent inner and outer edge prep on every pass. Typical use cases include copper pipe prep ahead of sweat or press fittings, PVC and CPVC prep before solvent welding, and EMT or RMT conduit finishing before threading or coupling installation. The cordless design removes the need for a nearby outlet during rough-in work.
The dce710b is compatible with the DEWALT 20V MAX battery platform. Battery, charger, and TOOL CONNECT Chip are sold separately. Pipe and tubing capacity covers nominal sizes from 3/8 inch to 2 inches across supported materials.
Installation and operation of this tool should be performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or electricians familiar with pipe prep procedures. Before deburring, ensure the pipe section is secured and that any associated system is fully depressurized and de-energized. Follow applicable codes — IPC and IFGC for plumbing and gas piping, NEC for conduit work — when preparing pipe and tubing ends for fitting assembly. Inspect blades for wear before each use and replace per manufacturer guidance to maintain consistent edge quality.
