The DEVCON 15850 Flexane 80 Putty is a trowelable urethane compound designed to repair and reline process equipment subjected to wear, impact, abrasion, vibration, and cyclical expansion and contraction. It mixes easily and applies smoothly with a trowel, then cures to a tough, medium-hard rubber with a hardness of 87 Shore A. The compound reaches a tack-free state in approximately 15 minutes and achieves full cure in 7 days at 75 degrees F. With a dielectric strength of 350 V/mil, it also offers electrical insulation properties alongside its mechanical protection. This product is installed by maintenance technicians, industrial repair crews, and process equipment specialists.
Flexane 80 Putty is suited for trowelable repair and potting applications on process equipment in industrial and commercial environments. It is formulated to protect surfaces exposed to abrasive materials, corrosive chemicals including hydrochloric acid at 36 percent and aluminum sulfate at 10 percent, and mechanical stress from vibration and impact. It is applied as a lining or filler on metal, rubber, and concrete surfaces where a medium-hard, flexible rubber cure is required. Flexane Primers are recommended when maximum adhesion to metal, rubber, or concrete is needed.
Designed for trowelable repair and potting applications on metal, rubber, and concrete surfaces in process equipment subject to wear, abrasion, impact, and chemical exposure. Use of Flexane Primers is recommended for maximum adhesion on these substrates.
Surface preparation is critical before application — clean and degrease all substrate surfaces thoroughly and apply a compatible Flexane Primer when bonding to metal, rubber, or concrete. Mix components per manufacturer directions and apply within the working time window. Wear appropriate chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection during mixing and application. Allow the full 7-day cure cycle before exposing the repair to service loads or chemical contact.
