The DE-STA-CO 603 is a standard straight line action clamp designed for workholding and fixture applications in manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication environments. It delivers 600 lb (2668.93 N) of clamping load through a round plunger with 1.25 inches of travel, using an internally threaded plunger (5/16-18) that allows for adjustable tip engagement. The carbon steel construction provides solid durability for production floor conditions. The straight red handle and flanged base make this a compact, direct-acting clamp suited for mounting on jigs, fixtures, and tooling plates. Mechanical advantage reaches 23:1 in push mode and 34:1 in pull mode. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the primary installers.
The DE-STA-CO 603 fits standard industrial workholding setups where a straight-line plunger motion is required rather than a swing arm. Typical applications include parts positioning, clamping during drilling or milling operations, and assembly fixture work where vertical or inline clamping force is needed. The flanged base with four mounting holes allows rigid attachment to fixture plates, tombstones, or fabricated tooling frames. The 1.25-inch plunger travel accommodates workpiece variation without requiring full disassembly of the fixture setup.
Designed as an OEM-style straight line action clamp for use in industrial workholding fixtures, jigs, and assembly tooling where inline plunger clamping is specified.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or fixture builders using standard hand tools. The flanged base is secured through four mounting holes to a fixture plate or structural tooling surface - ensure the mounting surface is flat and rigid to prevent clamp deflection under load. Verify the plunger tip thread engagement (5/16-18 internal) is adjusted before locking down the fixture to achieve the correct clamping height. Do not exceed the rated 600 lb load capacity.
