The DE-STA-CO 309-USS is a manual hold-down toggle clamp configured in a horizontal orientation with a flanged base and U-bar design. It delivers a holding capacity of 750 pounds (3,335 N) and is constructed entirely of stainless steel, including the T-handle with a red grip. The fixed spindle end accepts a 3/8-16 thread, with a spindle length of 2.5 inches and 1.06 inches of spindle travel. The handle sweeps through 168 degrees of movement, and the bar opens to 90 degrees. This clamp is installed by machinists, fixture builders, welding technicians, and production assembly personnel who require repeatable, positive workholding in demanding environments.
The 309-USS is suited for use on welding fixtures, assembly jigs, machining tables, and fabrication workholding applications where corrosion resistance and high clamping force are required. The flanged base with four mounting holes allows secure bolting directly to fixture plates or work surfaces. The stainless steel construction with a zinc finish coating makes it appropriate for washdown environments, food processing fixtures, or outdoor fabrication setups where carbon steel clamps would corrode. The overall footprint is compact enough for tight fixture layouts while maintaining a substantial 750 lb rated capacity.
Designed as a direct-mount hold-down toggle clamp for use on welding fixtures, assembly jigs, and production tooling where a horizontal U-bar clamp with a flanged base and 750 lb capacity is specified.
Installation is performed by fixture builders, toolmakers, or mechanical assembly technicians. Mount the flanged base securely to a rigid fixture plate using four fasteners through the 0.33-inch mounting holes before applying clamping loads. Verify spindle thread engagement and adjust the two nuts and washers to set the correct clamping height before placing the clamp into service. Confirm the over-center lock is fully engaged each cycle before machining or welding operations begin.
