The GENERIC / UNBRANDED dc-cat6-p-yel is a 1,000-foot pull-box reel of Category 6 unshielded twisted pair cable rated CMP (Communications Multipurpose Cable, Plenum) for installation in air-handling spaces and plenum return-air plenums. Constructed with 23 AWG solid copper conductors, the cable supports high-speed data transmission, voice, and Power over Ethernet applications over extended runs. The CMP-rated jacket meets strict fire and smoke propagation requirements under NFPA 70 and is required by code wherever cables pass through environmental air spaces. The bright yellow jacket provides immediate visual identification during installation and future maintenance work.
This cable is suited for structured cabling deployments in commercial office buildings, data centers, healthcare facilities, and educational campuses. The full 1,000-foot reel length minimizes mid-run splices and reduces installation interruptions on large horizontal cable runs. Network installers and low-voltage contractors typically pull this cable through ceiling plenums, above raised floors, and within dedicated conduit pathways to support gigabit Ethernet and PoE devices across the facility.
Designed as a standard Category 6 UTP plenum cable for use with Cat 6 patch panels, keystone jacks, and modular outlets in structured cabling systems compliant with TIA-568 wiring standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage contractor or network cabling technician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) Article 800 and local fire codes. Verify that CMP-rated cable is required for the specific plenum space before pulling the run. Avoid sharp bends exceeding the minimum bend radius and do not staple or crush the jacket, as deformation degrades twisted pair geometry and signal performance. De-energize any PoE switches or injectors on the circuit before terminating ends at patch panels or keystone jacks.
