The DAYTON LAMINA KPB 18 150 M2 is a solid mold die blank punch designed for use in stamping and progressive die tooling applications. Built from M2 grade high speed steel, this punch delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for high-cycle die work. It features a basic head profile with a 5/16 inch head diameter, 3/16 inch shank diameter, 1/8 inch head height, and a 1.5 inch overall length. The Regular KPB Series designation indicates a standard blank punch geometry suited to toolroom and production environments. Licensed toolmakers and die setters are the typical installers.
This blank punch is used in mold and die assemblies where a standard solid punch with a basic head style is specified. The compact 1.5 inch overall length suits tight die-set configurations. The M2 high speed steel construction handles the repeated impact and shear loads common in blanking and piercing operations across light to medium material thicknesses. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both toolroom fabrication and direct production-line replacement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct toolroom-use punch for standard mold and die assemblies requiring a basic head solid blank punch in the Regular KPB Series.
Installation is performed by qualified toolmakers or die setters with the press or die set fully de-energized and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Punch fit, alignment, and retention should be verified against die drawings before cycling. Do not modify the shank or head geometry. Always inspect the mating die bushing for wear before installing a replacement punch.
