The DAYTON LAMINA HJB 100 450 M2 is a solid mold die blank punch in the Jektole (HJB) series, designed for use in progressive die and mold tooling applications. Manufactured from M2 grade high-speed steel with a hardness rating of 60-63 HRC, this blank punch delivers consistent performance in high-cycle stamping and die work. The shank diameter measures 0.083 inches and the overall length (OAL) is 4.5 inches. A ball lock retention system secures the punch in the holder without additional fasteners, reducing setup time during die changes. Tool and die makers, mold builders, and precision metalworking shops are the primary installers of this component.
This blank punch is intended for use in progressive die sets, mold bases, and stamping tooling where a solid, unground punch body is required before custom machining. The blank configuration allows machinists to profile, grind, or EDM the working end to a specified form. The Jektole (HJB) series is a standardized product family used in industrial tooling environments requiring repeatable, interchangeable punch components. The pin extension length of 0.0625 inches and a minimum machinable length of 0.5 inches provide adequate material for secondary operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling component for use in Jektole (HJB) series die sets and punch holder assemblies requiring a 0.083-inch shank ball lock blank punch.
Installation and secondary machining of die punches should be performed by qualified tool and die makers or precision machinists familiar with progressive die tooling. Ensure the press or machining center is fully de-energized and locked out before punch removal or installation. The blank working end must be ground or machined to final form before the punch is placed in service. Follow all applicable shop safety and OSHA machine guarding requirements when working with stamping dies.
